7/19/2011 9:23:00 AMWe are heading over to Lake Sullivan for the first time from the rainy side of the state to camp with some friends from Deer Park. I know what works for kokes over here (American Lake). Were you trolling with down riggers? We'll be staying at the campground and only have an electric trolling motor, so exploration of the entire lake may not be possible. Any hot spots you would be willing to divulge? I know there are burbot in Lake Keechelus on Snoqualmie pass, but I've only caught small ones. Are there any local bait shops worth exploring in Metaline Fall and vicinity that may have intell? Thanks and have a great rest of your summer!

7/19/2011 10:21:00 AMWhen you headed up there? We've never used downriggers up there. We have always used 4-5 oz banana weights with lake trolls rubber snubbers and wedding rings tipped with either maggots or white shoepeg corn. We caught all our fish right around around the 30' mark. We trolled along the road side and thats usually the hot spot (between the dam and the second slide down) but we couldnt buy a bite there this time and didnt see much for fish there either. All our fish were caught between the beach and into the cove to the left of the boat launch so just having an electric trolling motor will be perfect. We marked fish all over in there. We just kept circling back thru to get them. As far as bait shops there really arent any to speak of. Theres a couple of gas stations in Ione and metaline that sell worms or atleast use to I just bring everything I need from spokane and don't go into town. Also if you want to try for burbot use glow in the dark buzz bombs tipped with worms over by the rock cliffs in the cove to the left of the boat launch, we usually get them in the 45-60' range and jig SLOW right off the bottom just pulling up about 6 inches and back down. If ur up there the weekend of the 30th of july come over to the cabin, its the first one you come to on the left from the boat launch i'll be up there all weekend and can show you what work's, for us anyways. Good luck.

7/19/2011 11:03:00 AMThank you for the intell and the invite! We'll be there tomorrow through Sunday, so it looks like we won't be there when you are around this time. I'll send out a report upon our return, hopefully to some sun for a change?!
Cheers and tight lines,
