Bottom Fishing From Boat
Smallmouth Bass

Launched at 5:10 a.m. this morning. It is my 1 year anniversary so needed to be back early:) Fished until 8:15 or 8:30. Caught 3 Smallies all around the deeper docks, say like 16 to 20 feet. Used a drop shot the entire time and never had a bite until I put on a 4.5" Roboworm in Aaron's Magic and then it was 3 fish in about an hour.

By then, I was out of time and had to go. 2 of the fish were small, 12 inchers or so and the larger fish was 3 1/2.

The big fish had about 18 inches of what looked like 15 or 20 pound test hanging out of it's mouth. Somebody caught it and it was hooked deep so they, smartly, just cut the line. I could not even see the hook, it was in it's belly.

Perhaps I will post in the forums my thoughts on this, but in my opinion, this fish will dissolve that hook or pass it no differently then it passing a perch. You know how many pokies are on a perch? Sure you do, lol.

Anyway, water temps around 67 and it was a beautiful day to be on the water.

You did good in cutting the line. Bass have a very acidic digestestive system. And that hook will be gone in no time. And I am sure the bass appreciates no longer having the monofiliment waving from its mouth.
