Took my son to Lake St. Claire. Launched at 7:00 AM and fished till 2:00 PM. Good day count wise. I caught 21 and my son caught 11. Eight were 1 1/2 lbs to 1 3/4 lbs, the rest smaller. All caught on a weightless 4 inch watermellonseed Sticko, fishing the shorelines and pads. No big ones, but a fun day.

Congrats to you and your son, that sounds like a fun day. Bill and I used to love to fish at St. Clair.

This had been my first trip back to St. Claire in a long time. We fished the main lake inthat the numbers are always better there. But my bigger fish have all came from the fingers. Several years ago I caught an 8-7, and the year before a fishing friend caught an 8-3, both came from the fingers. Two years ago I saw a picture in the Tacoma News Tribune of a monster 10-3 caught there. I don't know where that was caught, but I could tell by the background that he was standing in his boat in front of the boatlaunch.

nice. ive fished there a couple of times and caught nothing of any size but the lake itself has the feel that they are in there. i need to get back out there but the rivers have been calling my name recently.
