Recently bought a new rod and reel combo, Shimano Caenan and Okuma Reflexions rod, and went out with Logan77 on his boat to try it out. No more than 2 casts into the day, Logan77 pulls out a 4 pounder. After we moved spots, I caught what normally would be a 1 pound fish, but was incredibly fat and had eaten its way into the 2 pound range! Changed spots again, and saw a couple small trout follow our crankbaits, but they weren't hungry enough to take a whack at it. The next spot we tried, Logan77 caught his second 4 pounder of the day, this fish more like 4 1/2, off a deep drop off. It was the biggest smallie of the year for him! We moved back to where Logan77 caught the first 4 pounder, and I caught my best bass of the year at 2 1/2 pounds. After that we caught a bunch more dinks that were coughing up some sort of silver baitfish, and Logan77's dad caught a 3 pounder to finish off the day. Great day of fishing, lots of fish for everyone, both of us catching our best fish of the year!
