Coretron22 and I started late in the afternoon. We first started at the Montlake Cut. Not much action there. It was pretty darn slow and chilly with the wind in our face. After a couple hours I said lets go to the Arboretum. We drove in grabbed our poles with just a few plastics for heavy lillies. We started in the shallows with out much luck so we walked further. We saw a dock area and went to investigate. We saw something thrashing in the water. It was a fish that I thought was a Carp. They thrash in the weeds.Coretron said "watch this Im gonna get it" I chuckled. All of a sudden Blammmmm. He had line being pulled out.Whatever it was that he hooked was big. He fought it through the lillies and held tight fighting him in.He got him around to shore where I knelt down and lipped the Hawg. It was at least a 5 lb LMbass. His legs were shaking something fierce. After a bit I had a swirl and splash next to mine but did not get it.
We walked down a lil bit more I made a cast and it Blammmmed.Another big LMbass. Double trouble for these boys. Both fish unhooked and released. We watched them swim away. What a great feeling. We fished more but it was getting late.Coretron said 1 more cast and WHAMMMMMMM... Something fought Coretron only this time it was seriously big. We never saw it but it was ok.All said we had a great day fishing. This was one of our most memorable trips together.Just fricking awesome.

Can I ask, did you walk through the trail down near MOHI (Museum)? Looks kind of like that.

A scale may be a good investment.

Nice job! Fun doing that kind of stuff from shore with fewer options than the boater crowd (you mnetioned walking so assuming it was a shore excursion but guess could have been boat/walk combo). Pretty looking fish.

indeed a scale would be a great investment.. that bass is not even close to 5 lbs.. 2.5 - 3 tops.. nice fish none the less

Elijah - yeah, I'd have guessed 3-3.5...optimistically.
Quad - I'm not familiar enough to know which trail or if there was a museum nearby. Rac can chime in on specifics. We were just hitting areas with lillies.

Yeah, that's the arboretum area near MOHI, I went there a lot last summer. Nice fish guys, regardless of whatever it weighs. Glad you hooked into a nice LM coretron!
