Short report: Went to Potholes with the dogs. They were highly entertained, as it was one fish after another. Suffice it to say the fish were mostly big, as in other recent reports. I haven't been out here in a month or so, and they are attacking darn near anything, so I stuck to topwater. Darker colors seemed prevalent. Caught a lot of both basses, and a fair crappie. biggest lgmth bass was 6.5, biggest smllmth was 5.4, according to the scale. I would guess nearly a 3 lb average, other than panfish. At one point I had 2 bass over 4 lbs on each of 2 lines, one being a 4lb test panfish outfit! Landed both while the dogs seemed to laugh at me. Great day for the first one back in a while. Whenever there was a bit more wind, the fish bit more aggressively.

Awesome! I wish my buds and I could've stayed a little longer on our trip a couple weeks ago. I agree, they were hitting pretty much everything we threw too. Pika206 and I tried fishing again here in Seattle and compared to Potholes, it was.... -_-
Fish on dude!

is that the 6.5 lber?.....what was the length ...just curious ...most 18 inchers from there will be about 3lb 5 oz in my experience (spawned out of course) unless you get into one of those football chunkers....good fishin

Where were you fishing in the Potholes? I have a Driftboat with an electric motor. Would that work?

Lotsa fishy! Good time out there.

No, that was about a 4, and all were fat, getting ready for winter I guess. Didn't weigh it. The pictures with the dogs turned out better than the one with the biggest. Kinda blurred. The pix were the best I could do alone. Suppose I could have laid them next to something, but the more contact they have with surfaces that are in our atmosphere, the greater the chance for infection due to slime removal, or so I've read.

Mostly Lind Coulee, though later at the edges of the dunes by frenchman's wasteway. Largemouth by brush or dropoffs, smallmouth dropoffs and edges and rocks. I was using our pontoon with twin electrics (55 & 48 lb thrust). Kinda slow, but doable. As good as it was I sort of wish I would have had the big boat, but it does force one to fish slower and more detailed. I actually catch more largemouth in the pontoon.

Both are. The one on the right wants the livewell left open so she can stare at it, like a human in front of a TV. She never wants the channel changed. The one on the left wants to taste each fish with a lick. She doesn't always get her way, but... The only thing she likes better than fresh fish is lemon bars. Neither gets in the way.
