This is the third time I have fished Lost Lake and the fishing is about what I have experienced before -lots of largemouth in the 10 -12” range, caught using 4”chartreuse senko. I caught an 11” bass under a submerged tree and then switched to the other side of the tree. I saw the senko start to drop and then the line moving out as a fish took it. I set the hook into what felt like a concrete block except that the block was moving! I applied all the pressure I could, my rod was bent in half and the drag was slipping but I could not stop the fish. Then the line stopped moving but I kept the pressure on except I could not feel any movement; felt like I was snagged. I moved the boat around in a circle to apply pressure from a different angle and the fish started moving again. I eventually got the fish to the surface and saw a huge bass! Once on the surface the fish became docile and I led it to the net. Then fish dove to escape but went into the net. I had it! The largemouth was 23” long with a 16# girth, I estimate it about 8 pounds. My personal best largemouth, of course I released it. I apologize the pictures aren’t very good; it is hard to get a good photo of a big fish while sitting in pontoon boat.
