Went fishing in Lake Stevens with my dad for Perch. I have fond memories of fishing with for them in Lake Washington as a kid, but we headed to Lake Stevens since it's a little closer to his house.

Got out on the water about 2pm and began catching fish immediately. First fish was a 8" Largemouth bass. That was the only non-perch fish we'd catch all day. We were expecting fish to be moving a little deeper since it was fall, but caught fish in water between 20 and 50 feet deep. Fish were smaller than we remember catching in Lake Washington and were very consistently the same size with only a few exceptions. Over the course of the afternoon and evening we caught at least 80 fish, possibly as many as 100. Kept about 25 of the bigger ones and released the rest. I was fishing with one of those "Crappie Rigs" with two wire spreaders for two sets of hooks and pulled up two fish at once at lease three times.

We used nightcrawlers and cut up perch as bait. Both seemed equally successful.
