Went to St. Claire with a buddy. Fishing is getting tough. Water temp 57-58. All caught on Sencos. One caught on main lake. Finally went back into the fingers and caught 3 more. Nothing big. Think we should have went into the fingers right out of the get go. Oh well, hind sight is always 20-20. May give it one more try before the bad weather is back.

I really like that lake but have only fished it once in the last two seasons. Thanks for the report!

We fished it two weekends ago; 4 perch, two rainbows and several rock bass. All caught stillfishing with worms, in the "fingers". I think this would be a good lake for crappie but nobody I asked knew if any had been caught. Now that I know there's decent sized perch in there, I'll be back..especially since it's only about 7 miles from the house.

There can be excellent crappie fishing at St. Claire. In fact I've seen alot caught right in the boat launch area. May give it one more try tomorrow. I'll see what I catch first, bass or hypothermia.
