Fishing this Spring, on Lk Whatcom, was another fun-filled learning experience. My worst day with a client was when he only caught 4 fish.
We had A LOT of GREAT days out there! Meaning 20 fish or better per person and a lot of 4-3 lbers.
Same ol stuff works Drop shotting is my fave though. I learned this spring to lower my hook to about 6 inches above the weight for bedding bass.
That was killer for lots of fish that wouldn't touch other plastics on their bed
Today is July8th and after fishing for a few hours yesterday it was confirmed that ,yes, their are still some bedded bass. I've seen them as late as July 28th on beds before
Another new thing I learned this year was to get away from the ol standby colors, green pumpkin and brown,
and experiment with some new colors! Try that sometime. I'm finding new hot colors on other Lakes around the state also.
Being a tournament fisherman, I feel if you can find something a little different from the norm, you have an advantage.
And a new hot color, the fish haven't seen so much, that matches its prey, can be a key!
More and more fish are spawning in the South end guys!!
As for fishing last night, it was awesome. 3 hours 8 fish The largest being a 5 35 Lb. Smally along with 2 4 pluses and 2 3 lbers.
I'll have some pics up on the website in the next few weeks so feel free to take a look! The fishing is hot now and will be thru August!
Then I head over to Banks and the Columbia for some outrageous fall fishing! Take care and Good Luck Fishing Guys and Ladies.
