Well it was a cold foggy morning that burned off quick and the fishing was quick too. First cast 5.8lb trout in the boat. Another 3lber in the boat on Toms next cast and we were jigging for a few hours C&Ring fish. Then it was about time to go and I pulled in a 6.9lber and thomas followed with a 4lber. Back to camp by 11:30..should of made the kids go... A small purple jig under a bobber for Husky Saturday and a rootbeer colered squid jig.
Well worth the 5 hour drive over. Fished the net pens in 60-70 feet of water. Thanks bluffin for the tips a few years back on how to fish this. Sure did make it out to be a productive drive.

Way to go Big Smooth! Nice fish, I bet it was a blast, wish it wasn't a NINE HOUR drive for me. :-( Oh well, maybe I can hook up with a buddy that will share the cost and driving over there. Yeah that bluefin loui is the greatest isn't he? He put our family onto fish too a couple of years ago when we made our first trip there, been trying to get back ever since! lol Thanks for the report.

Nice fish, looks like some more changes at the pens with all the netting

Lewis - That netting was there during our late Sept trip. Guess it works to keep the birds from having a feeding frenzy. ;-)
