Went out to Rock for the second day in a row and hit limits both days with 10 the 1st day and 15 the 2nd day. Caught a few big rainbows as well as good size browns both days. The water temp is 43 degrees and the fish are getting real aggresive. I was using leaded line with anywhere from 3 to 7 colors and trolling just fast enough to get the smile blade to spin. Rock is my favorite winter fishery and the fish are only going to get more aggresive as the water temp goes even lower. We even nailed fish trolling out in the middle. Had a few doubles on both days making for an exciting day, it is amazing how you warm right up when you are catching fish on a windy day. The boat launch is a bit of a challenge to get the boat on the trailer and chest wadders are a huge help. I have noticed some garbage at the launch area and always try to pack some extra out with me. We are blessed with such a great fishery for the public to use for free yet there is always the few that leave crap everywhere, don't be one of those guys. Treat it like it is your own and it will be around for a long time. Sorry no pics, but to those of you who fish this lake regularly you already know what a Rock lake stringer looks like.

Good report tomnordman. You are right about it being a great fishery, it is a real jewel. Sounds like we need to give the Steelhead a break in Hell's Canyon and head to Rock for a day. Seems like there are always few slobs out there trashing trashing our playground, nothing we can do except pick up after them, sad but true.
