Wow, I did not know they were in there. Do you target kokanee? Nice jaw, looks like a sockeye.

And Rock is connected to Bonnie Lake via Rock Creek and Bonnie Lake is connected to Chapman via the same and there ARE kokanee in Chapman, so it's remotely possible some made it into Rock. That's would be one lucky kokanee to survive that trip!

No.... I didnt target it....Possibly somebody can educate me on the life cycle of these fish. I caught it on a 6 inch plug in an area where it should be if it was spawning. The buck has leaking milk which leads me to believe i pulled my lure over its reds and it was just guarding it....Meaning there must be a hen? I am confused because A few years back I talked to the fish and game guy that runs Rock and he told me the water is to turbid for kokanee.

I wanted to say thanks to all the people that post, I have been leaching your knowledge for years and I am finally gonna start giving back. Rock,Rufus,Roosevelt and Omak are my go to lakes and look foward to sharing my stories, pictures and if any body cares my knowledge

Great find. Kokanee in Rock Lake. We don't see that often.

Wow on a 6inch plug, that is a cool fishing story. Great catch, I have never caught them when they have their spawn jaw on, and all the ones I have caught have been accidental, like at loon trolling for trout, or Roosevelt trout fishing.
