Decent day on Nahwatzel. 1st time on lake. 0 luck trolling(wind, rain and lots of bailing) between 2 people. Caught some fish from shore. Truly amazed @ what I found in the stomach of a 14" trout. 4 Partially digested plastic worms. I`ll be back when weather nicer. Hope the pic shows..

I've found the same thing in two different LK Sammamish Cutthroat.

Wow. What an unexpected smorgasbord of discarded, man made soft plastics! I would figure those are the ingredients of a stomach ache.

Yeah, I've found quite a few "worms" inside of trout from Nahwatzel, these trout will die from starvation as their systems will not pass these worms and block up their digestive systems. The fact that now they are "flavored" just makes them that much more dangerous to trout populationsl. I understand that some of these wormsare lost due to breakage while fighting a fish, but most are just tossed by bass anglers after they are tore up by fish. They just don't care about killing trout since they don't fish for them, I've gotten in a few scenes with jerk-off bass fishermen that refuse to believe that they are littering and killing trout in the bargain, the funny thing is that these worms (at least the ones I've used in the past) can be remelted and poured, thus recycling and saving money in the bargain. What can you say, our state is bring over run by jerks like this. W#hen you see this kind of behavior don't let it slide as the fish you save may be your trophy of a lifetime. Maybe they can be :edjimikated", but I doubt it. Bob R

Reminds me of the Power Lizard I found in a cutthroat from Lake Washington. Amateur autopsy with pics: http://www.washingtonlakes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4692&hilit=cutthroat+autopsy
Also, one can't just single out the bass fishermen for this. I see fishermen of all types tossing "bad" bait overboard. Corn, marshmellows, cured eggs, powerbait, etc can't be good for the fish who ingest it. So just a gentle reminder to pack it out if it isn't going onto a hook.
