We ran a trip up to the lower net pens to celebrate the New Year. The trip up was kooky with heavy fog. At times visibility was well under 50 feet. As soon as we got there, the fish cooperated. Lisa landed the first fish which was also the big fish of the day. It was 13.1 lbs. It bit a slip sinker ring baited with Mallo Balls O' Fire, Fire Bait from Pautzke's. Used a big enough gob to bury a #4 hook. We were able to do a bit of jigging to catch & release some fish. Then we finished out with bookend 8's on Fire Bait. The drive back was much quicker with the fog lifted. Saw and otter swimming around near the pens, innumerable ducks and geese as well as fair sprinkling of deer. All in all, a great day at Rufus. That's Lisa Murray with her very first Rufus Triploid.
