Went to the PUD Launch around o dark 30, and thought I'd be the first one to launch. Well, when I pulled into the launch area there was Joe from Lake Chelan Adventures. My Luck was running good. As Joe was waiting for his clients, I plied him with questions, and received several tips and advise on the Laker bite. I got to the Rocky point area around 0800ish, and dropped down a Green Ace HiFly and a "K" lure spoon type lure (2 pole endorsement) tipped with a chunk of pikeminnow. After the HiFly got bit 5 to one over the "K" lure, I put down another Ace. It was Bite after Bite, But Alas I wasn't able to get a solid hook up. Slowed the troll speed down to 1 - 1.2mph and started to hook up. Ended the day with 11 in the boat, lost 4 at the boat, and had another 4-5 pull off on the way up. Ended the day around 2:30 and headed in. The fish were on the small side, but made a nice pile of fillets for the smoker. Thanks Joe for your willingness to share your expertise and knowledge. It sure made my day.

What, no big rainbow on the stringer anywhere? Starting to expect a rainbow or two in the reports for Chelan. Due to Joe's reports as of late.

Nice pile of fish... Thanks for posting. Can't wait for the end of May when I'll come to fish Chelan!

Looks like a heck of a good work out! Glad to see you've got them figured out.

Hey ya MotoBoat, I don't have the savvy to put the rainbows in the boat. Joe seems to have the technique to harvest the bounty of the waters. LOL. Thanks for the comment

Thanks danm. I was pretty proud of those fillets. Hope the bite is on when you come over and you take piles of fillets home.

More luck than anything Andy. The ole athritic shoulders and elbows don't like reeling in the Hundreds of feet of line out for sure, but worth every crank. I'm trying to figure out how to up the percentage of hook-ups. seems the smaller fish need more finesse or something. Most likely just my technique needs refined. LOL

Thanks for the comment Toni, Trolling isn't one of my strong points, but reading all the reports of successful trollers, and being out on Joe's boat make me have to give it a try once in a while. It sure is a whole new learning curve for me. I sure enjoy your Kokanee reports and pics. Can't wait till they start to hit again for ya. You and yours take care and stay well
