This trip was really to try the new I-pilot, but we fished, while playing with this new toy.

Water temp 45-47
Depth 9-15
Troll speed .4-1.2
Method Slow death- Smile blades- crawlers

Fishing was slow, but like I said more of a spring flesh out of the boat, after a cold winter.....did manage to catch one 16" rainbow.
When I was cleaning this trout, I took a peek at the contents of his belly, "EGGS" small whitish eggs, small about the size of the head of a pin. The fish was chocked full of these small eggs, why he felt the need to take a full night crawler is anybodys guess.....

I'm guessing perch eggs....anyone else want to ponder a guess?

In the early spring the Walleye tend to be in deeper water. 30-40 ft. deep. I was staying in a rv at lind coulee for 5 days, just got back yesterday. We got 10 walleye, mostly 14 to 15 inches but one was 19 inches and one was 21 inches.

kjtemp, I agree the train of thought is to fish those depths, this time of year. But when the locals are fishing in a certain area and catching fish, I tend to take notice.
