A friend and I went to Tapps. Started about 11:00. Weather deteriorated fast. Wind and rain. Did catch 9 smallies and one 5-2 largemouth. And had one muskie bust a crankbait at the boat, but quickly shook off. Most were caught on deep diving crankbaits. Sure wished I'd have brought the camera for the largemouth.

South of Snag Island. I don't know how good the largemouth population is, but I know the ones caught are usually big. There is no two ways about it, smallmouth are the most often caught. If you want to target largemouth, look for shallow wooded bays once the water temp starts pushing 60 degrees. But I am certainly no pro when it comes to Lake Tapps largemouth. When I come to Tapps I am fishing smallmouth. I have other lakes I fish for largemouth. Hope this helps.
