Well guys, all things must end... for a while at least. The recent heat wave set off a flood of runoff water from the Yakima river over it's banks, and as I write this the I82 ponds-most notably the best crappie ponds, Granger Pond, pond 5 and pond 7 are currently flooded out! Yesterday Pacbassman and I had a hey day on bluegill, bass and crappie and some really skinny trout at Granger Pond. We were field testing my new" Fliptail crappie nymph" in smoke pepper and purple and the crappie were all over it! We caught at least 60 (mostly smallish) bluegill, bass, perch, trout and crappie in several hours of fishing. Unfortunately today, the very spot we were fishing from is under at least 5 feet of water from the flooding Yakima River! Bummer is that I'll have to foray further from home to feed my springtime crappie addiction! Dilweed Roger snapped a picture of me wearing my wife's "Zebra striped" reading glasses while I was retying on a new jig... Hopefully that photo won't be posted here! LOL Maybe the ponds will clear up and rebound in a few weeks. Sunday I'm going to fish a lake with some really big slab crappie and if we do well, I'll keep you posted.Tight lines, Jiggy

Time for healing. Too bad about the flooding though. Might change the structural topography. We might even have to relearn, and, oh my, think!
