As always Long Lake is a producer. The fish are moving toward the bottom in the middle of the channel-I guess they are getting ready for winter because it has been so cold. Early in the evening in the coves down by the DNR launch the brown trout fishing has been spotty as it usually is, however they are fun to catch if you don't mind a little chill. The bass seem to be gone again, however we did catch one that was 2 pounds or so in the pads across from the last resort. Overall this was a fun day with 2 browns, a small bow near the little Spokane confluence, and a bass. The fishing should be better though when this cold weather clears and the normal October rains start which should bring the surface water temperature up I hope...Already I can't wait until next summer when the weather is warm again.
