Medical Lake is producing Browns once again, despite rumors that the lake is "dead" and all the browns are gone. On Sunday 9/1, I was able to land and release 4 nice fish ranging form 14"-18" and on 9/8 I caught and released an 18" brown.
Using a #10 Pheasant Bug (pheasant tail / zug bug) the fish hit on a slow to moderate retrieve.
The water temp on the surface has dropped to 64 degrees from last weeks 69 degrees. I think that this has sparked the brown's activities. In the evening the insect activity increased greatly, some cranes and mayflies, which will help to fatten them up
some.
Medical Lake is a lake that is frequented by anglers using "bubble gum" and other bait. It is a no bait lake. If you see this going on, let the Medical Lake Police Dept. know about it. They will respond to your call and notify the game department. They can be reached at 565-5003.
