My son came over from the coast to do a little fishing so we headed up to the basin for some trout action.We started out at Warden lake which according to wdfw was number one lake on the opener.Action was very spotty we caught a few small fish,and the wind was blowing a bit out of the NW.I figured maybe we could get some calmer water up in the sun lakes where I spent the opener last weekend with my cousin and 3 teenage kids.We did end up with a nice german brown on that trip with limits for all 5 on board.Well today the water was calm and within 5 minutes of launching my boat at around noonish I did it again with another 20 something inch german brown caught about 25 ft down off a downrigger with a cultiva rip n minnow.Utilizing my 2 rod endorsement we fished 2 leadcore rods with daiwa dr minnows,and a rip n minnow on the downrigger.We finished up the rest of our limits with hard hitting rainbows ranging from 12-16 inches.we were off the lake by 3:00
