Fished for Bass, gills, and crappie from about 9:30 to 4:00. There were two of us in the boat, and both of us are good fisherman, but the spinny rays kicked our backside today. We tossed spinnerbaits, crakbaits, dropshots, sinkos, dropshot, jigs, etc. It was just not to be today.

We just ended a cold front, and with the temperatures just now into the high 50's, I suppose that it was to be expected. Nevertheless, Fish and Wildlife tells us there are a lot of 12"+ bass and a lot of gills to be had - maybe after this next week of warm and stable weather.

Wish I had some crakbaits. LOL Ok, just kidding. I'm taking a couple days off from fishing and the water temps should go up again with all this sun this weekend. The water temp has dropped 6 degrees from a week-and-a-half /2 weeks ago. They're biting, just not very good. I'm stubborn, I like to be successfull at my home lake instead of going to a lake where everyone else is catching them. There is one lake I saw a BIG bass try to catch a bird the other day, but she wouldn't take my senko, crankbait, spinnerbait, I plan on going back soon.

AMX, I was afraid the cold front would do that, but we had a deadline. LOL

Did Fish and Wildlife bother to remind you that they recently poisoned Sprague so that they could put trout in there? That lake used to be one the best walleye lakes around, until the trout czars took over.....

Don't get me started (LOL). Walleye or not, the carp needed to be removed.

The bass, blue Gill, and crappie should come on soon.

Who knows what the future holds?
