5/14/2012 7:39:00 PMCrickets and grasshoppers work especially when you find a situation like one I found in Yellowstone years ago. A field with long grass full of grasshoppers next to a river. I figured that some must accidentally jump in the river and the fish would get accustomed to eating them. Now the local rules were no bait So I went to a fly fishing shop nearby and got a grasshopper fly. It looked just like a grasshopper. Went back to where I could see fish rising next to that field and cast in a few times and Boom! Trout on.
