Great day to fish today. Evening started out sunny but transitioned to overcast. The wind picked up to about 8mph blowing from the NW. That didn't calm the bite down much though. Started out targeting bass under docks and managed to get one rock bass before seeing my spinner bait do a mid-air detachment and find its way to the bottom of the lake. Switched to the homemade wedding ring and got 4 trout in one area. Paddled down in the kayak to another good location looking for bass but instead, hooked up with 3 more rainbows. Went to the far north end and busted out the fly rod for some topwater action. Two strikes but no hook ups and and by then the sun was setting. On the way back decided to just toss the wedding ring over the side to see what it would do. A few seconds later, another fish on! Seemed like you couldn't keep them off the hook! All fish were between 8-10 inches and were C&R'd. Surface water temp was really warm.

Wow, thanks for the heads-up Lumpdog. I always thought the lake was a little dirty but didn't think it was because of sewage. Log Boom Park is a different story. Last year there were little brown pieces of junk resembling feces floating around the docks. Hope no one is eating the fish out of that lake...

@quad: I am alive to respond to this comment so, no. Now i recall a time when I was wading in waders at the southeast corner and stepped in what felt like quicksand...EW!

Maybe no more float tubing in Bitter lake, on a warm summer eve, without the waders on. Okay Quad! This is very likely the reason for last years skin rash. All in good taste, but do not taste the fish.

If my memory serves me correctly, didn't someone report eating a rock bass from that lake last year? Mmmmm, tasty marinated treat. Come to think of it. I gave a rock bass to a Grandma and her two little nephews to eat. They were chattin it up with me and I thought to offer one to them, as they indicated they bottom fished Puget Sound one time, and liked fishing.
