Great day on the water. Sky was blue, almost no wind, a few to many other fisherman but you can get lost and be left alone on Lake Kokanee anyways. My brother and I took the canoe out and trolled around from 9:30 to 4:00. Took about and hour but a brown trout hit my line near the larger waterfall in the middle of the canyon. Then both of us caught fish at the same time just a few minutes later. We made our way to the very north end up to the buoys. The first time we came to this lake in August an old man packing a pistol at the launch told us that is the place to be and we caught one trout that day but nothing could have prepared us for today. We were all alone for almost 2 hours, the water was so clear and calm we could watch the rainbows investigate our hooks then gobble them up. That spot is only about the size of a large swimming pool and maybe 25 feet deep but it is crowded with fish. In the end we caught 15 fish but threw them all back because the rest of the family won't eat them and we don't cook. It was by far one of the best days on the water we've ever had.

Sound to be a cool, lake with clear water. What was the range of size caught?

all fish caught on bait count towards your daily limit, if you want to catch and release you must not use bait or scent. one trick i have is catch the first 4 using bait, then switch to an artificial( preferably single barbless hook) and continue to catch and release. not trying to spoil your fun, but these are the rules we must obide by in order to keep ourselves out of trouble, and to preserve our wonderful resource.

Jonb, this report does not specify how all 15 fish were caught. He does list worms as bait at the top, but that may be just how he/they caught some, but not all of their fish. I make reports like that. For all we know he did what you describe and switch to bait-less after limits were caught. What assumptions did you make to conclude he broke the rules?

Correct, that. Meant to say: "For all we know he did what you describe and switch to bait-less after 4 fish were caught."

Jonb it is presumptuous to think we weren't abiding by regulations. Even in one of the picks you can see we were using wedding rings.

MotoBoat they were 10 to 14 inches the second pick was on the large size for the day.
