5/21/2012 5:37:00 PMThe key this year is going deep. Last year I never fished below 28 ft and this year all my Kokes have been below 50ft. Good luck next time. And it doesnt matter what time you get out there sometimes I run into skiers at 0500!! They love the stretch right in front of the VA.

5/22/2012 7:38:00 AMThanks for the tip Mike! I was trolling around 40 feet deep mostly with a 'Pink Lady' Diver as I don't have downriggers. I used about 2 feet of leader after it to a UV dodger and then around 20" of leader to a pink hootchie tipped with shoepeg corn. Do you know of any more successful ways to get my gear down deep? Perhaps I should have just let more line out?

5/22/2012 7:42:00 AMI know the thing to do is use leaded line, atleast that is what everyone seems to be talking about. You let out so many colors to let it go so deep. Best thing to do would be to talk to someone who uses it regularly because I am sure they could explain it a lot better. I did fish with a guy last year who used a diver and did very well too. 5/22/2012 8:00:00 AMExcellent, I've used leaded line once up at Twin Lakes (Ferry County) with great success and I may give it a shot again. I am always hesitant letting out that much line in traffic but I'll see what happens.

I have been using a Pink Lady for about 30 years and the chart on the package is wrong. Basically, your depth will be about half the length of the line (20#) you have out, minus a few feet for line drag bow (100 feet of line will put you down about 45 feet, etc). You will probably need a line-counting reel. Like you, I also use about two feet between the Lady and the dodger. Also, everything I have read indicates your lure should be between 5 and 12 inches behind the dodge (closer to 5" with depth). Hope this helps.
