Got there at 5:45 before the gate even opened. Got out on the water at 6:15. Went out in my new 4 person inflatable. It worked out great. I had a small anchor i used to stay in this one specific spot. My friend caught a nice 15 incher in the first 30 seconds. For the first 45 minutes we didant move and ended up getting 5. 3 were only about 9 inches and were released. We decided to troll out only about 200 feet from where we are and ended up getting a double right then. We tried a few places across the lake and got 3 more. At around 1pm we moved back to are original spot and ended up catching 4 more in about 30 minutes. Total we boated 14 and kept 7. I should mention we missed at least 6 where the whole pole just bent down when we weren't paying attention. Awesome day! was not expecting to catch that many at alll. We were using single bubble gum colored power eggs for the most part. Caught a few on a pink and yellow power egg combo and 1 on a rainbow garlic power egg. Cant wait to go back and catch more!

Thanks for the report. Sounds like a good time. Just an FYI if you are not aware, when fishing with bait, you are supposed stop fishing when you've caught the daily limit whether you keep them or not. If you're not using bait, then you can C&R all day long. Don't know how many people you were fishing with either, but it sounds like there were just two of you, which is what prompted this comment. Tight lines.

Unfortunately yes, it still applies. It's a bait thing. I'm not sure exactly why but, I believe the reason is, is that trout tend to take baited offerings deeper into their gullet, which can lead to higher mortality when trying to extract the hook.

Worms, maggots, corn, cheese, marshmallows, power bait, power eggs, gels and oils that giveoff scent all count as bait. You can try trolling a wolly bugger with an action disk, super super, flatfish or rapalas. Or cast spinners and spoons without the bait to catch and release all day.

What are super supers? And flatfish? I like keeping at least a few for dinner. But if I've caught my limit and the fish are on a consistent bite I still like to fish. So I hope I can find something that will work well. Do you guys recommend anything?
