It was an interesting couple of hours. Walked to the lake about 10 min from my apartment, I started off throwing a rainbow pattern kastmaster, no luck for about half hour... The other day I was in the same spot and got my silver/blue pattern lure stuck in a tree hanging out over the water, I decided to get it today and put it back on my reel and continued with the rescued silver/blue pattern kastmaster, after a few casts with that, I started getting some hits. After a couple of minutes I landed one probably 10-11", right as a pull it out on shore a blue heron swoops in and looks like hes gettin all excited comin towards me. I got the hook out of the fish's mouth and put in back in the water to set it free, only to have the heron jump in after it and swallow the fish whole. So now I have a great blue fishing buddy. After a few more casts I landed another about the same size,this time the heron was still in the water so I tossed the fish over by him, alas, the fish got away. I landed the third which was about the same size and took a picture. Had a ton of action on that once I switched my lure had about 4 get to the shore before shaking off the hook and a few strikes that I saw good size fish jumping out of the water. I am glad I went back for my lure!
