May 30, 2012, we arrived at Clear Lake about 10:00 a.m. Temp was in the mid 50’s, it was overcast and the barometer was at 30.08 in and had been climbing each day for the last week, water temp was 59°. I did not feel good about our chances for catching anything. We trolled from the public launch, (which by the way is not very easy to find, a really nice local who was walking with his wife gave us some good directions), up the West side of the lake. I was using a perch Rapala and downrigger at about 26’. Caught a nice little brown at about a lb. The bite was anything but fast. It was just good enough to keep it interesting. A good deal more action than I thought we would have. Ended up with three more strikes and landed two of them. Peggy was fishing with two colors of leaded line and couldn’t get quite deep enough. She had no action at all. We came off the lake about 2:30p.m.

The far end of the lake down by rainbow cove is the best water is deep and cool alot of big browns and bows down there I have always liked trolling between the floating barrels and the cliffs . \
