Went with Jiggy to the seep lakes with the single pontoons. WINDY!!!!! Jiggy caught a perch before I got on the water, and we fished for a few hours with 1 small bass and 2 small crappie. The wind was pushing 30+mph by the time I got to the end of the lake that had some fish. While they weren't jumping in my lap, the bite was briefly on. Caught 9 good bass (15-21") and 9 more crappie. C&R for all. I have enough fish for now, besides which the fish-eating birds have demolished the populations in this lake.
One bass took me through cattails and reeds and moss and tailwalked a lot, which was great fun while fighting the wind. After a choppy splashy ride back in whitewater, we loaded up and took off about 3pm.
Most of the bass were caught on Jiggy's plastics with 1/16 oz heads. 2 were on topwater (surprised me in those waves), and the crappie were mixed on miniplugs, jiggy lures, and plain worms. No bobbers.
By the way, I don't get kickbacks from Jiggy, darnit... Seriously, the less people that catch fish on these the better for me. Kinda selfish I know, but there it is.
Fun day, but a lot of work.
I rate it 4 because of the payoff at the end, good company, and lots of wildlife, including 2 turkeys. No, not us! Real, wild turkeys.
