Hit the lake about 10:30 and had only one bite until 2:30 when I got lucky with this 4 lb hog. Fished the back of the lake out of the wind in the little pockets hoping to see any remaining spawning fish but I saw zero fish. Threw everything from sencos, to crankbait, to spinnerbait and even tried a topwater poper. As I was getting ready to leave I had been using a pumpkin with green flake tube and decided to make a couple more casts on a log I saw running from deeper water to shallower water into standing grass. The last cast started cursing because as I twitched my rod the tip bent a bit and I thought I got hung up on something. I gave a tug on the line to free up my lure and it moved sideways and it was on. The drag started singing and it immediately ran for the grass. As I got it to surface I saw the mouth on this thing and couldn't believe how lucky I was (This fish basically set the hook itself and I just held on). Anyway after I boated it, took a few pics (which doenst do the fish justice) weighed it, and set it back, I decided it was time to call it quits for the day and end on a good note!

Good job! My wife and I drove by there heading up into Hancock land and saw that there were a lot of boats on Kapowsin. Sounds like you did good:)

nice fish! however, if you hold a fish that big like that, you can actually break their jaw and they could starve to death from not being able to eat. always hold them straight down vertically or support their body by holding them up towards the tail.
