Sorry for such a late and mixed report. I fished Sawyer three different times this past week and had mild success. Friday the 1st, I was just fishing an outlet of the lake with a half worm following a split shot over fast water. Landed the largest cutthroat I ever have out of Sawyer, so that was excited. Stupid thing swallowed the hook half way down his stomach, so he didn't make it, but he made a great dinner! Saturday and Sunday, I went out and worked the docks on the SE end of the lake with my same worm set up as well as yellow/white and solid white crappie jigs and yielded a mess of perch, bluegill and crappie as usual. In addition, I landed a 1/2 lb smallie saturday and an identical largemouth sunday. I'm curious if anyone has advice for catching larger bass in Sawyer. I want to have some direction before I go out and buy a load of gear. BTW, does anyone know if the kokanee have been planted in Sawyer prior to this year? I'd like to try it out if there are any of catchable size.
