I got out to fish Cda Lake with Mark K. yesterday. He likes to sleep in and had to be home a little early so we only had about 4 or 5 hours to fish. We hit a few bays on the north end of the main lake, only to find that the SERIOUS lack of sunshine these days has kept the cabbage and other weed cover from growing to an effective level just yet. My guess is it will take a couple of weeks for it to break the surface. We managed 2 fish on the day and missed a couple of other bites and another couple of fish flashing quickly on the baits. Water temps were only 50 to 54 degrees. Hopefully the sun we are supposed to get this week will help out. Fishing was very slow and the fish we did get were only 23"ers. A little warm weather and some sunshine should turn these main lake fish on soon.
