Was on the water by 6:30, and fished till 11:00. Tough fishing. Managed to catch 5 smallmouth. Nothing of any size. All caught in 18-20 ft of water. Saw lots of others on my graph, holding close to the bottom, but no matter what I used, only got the 5 to commit. Going to St. Claire Wednsday to chase after some largemouth.

Thanks. St. Claire is a long drive, especially when I have to go via the McKenna way to pick up my son, but I do enjoy fishing that lake. I usually take south I-5. As far as Tapps goes, I never tried fishing shallow at all because last Friday I never got a bite shallow. Like I said in my report, I marked alot of fish in 18-20 ft on the bottom. But I also marked alot of fish suspended. Whether they were smallies, or some other species, I don't know. What I do know was the bite was tough. Hope you do well.
