Fished from about 6:30 to 10:00. Lost count of the trout at 35, had about as many take down’s that didn’t stick. Took home one fat 16 inch kok. All caught on the old standard flat line 0/0 dodger w/1/2 oz lead & micro wedding ring. The setup didn’t seem to matter as long as there was Pautzke Fire Corn on top and a natural grub on the bottom. I seem to do best between 1.6 and 1.8 mph

1/2 oz weight, he's prob not sure of the exact depth. I'm curious about how far back though.

Depth? You tell me:
Trolling a 0/0 dodger with a 1/2 oz weight hanging slidder style in front of it between 1.6 and 1.8 mph from 95 to 125 feet behind the boat. No down rigger.

Can anyone tell me the depth?

Thanks for the report. Atleast you got one! I just read a report that said the fishermen on American are as tight lipped as the fish. I am going out tomorrow to see what kinda damage I can do. See everyone out there.

that being the case this web site must drive them nuts. :-) It has been tough out there for koks, at least in my experience. I always keep an eagle eye on the other boats and can see they have similar luck. Maybe it'll kick into gear one of these days. That's why we go fishing, right?

Of course once I had four fish to the boat I used unscented plastic and a wedding ring.

Slammin8er, could you estimate your line angle when at trolling speed? The reason for my question is not what depth your fishing. But, assuming you have a newer, color type fish finder. I have been wondering how accurate the speed is on my older non color fish finder. My F. finder speed starts at 1.5mph, and for me that is fast trolling. At 1.5 to 2.0, with your set up (1/2oz weight, 0/0 dodger) my line angle would be minimum 50 degrees, and more likely 60 degrees. I have to guess, but feel my minimum trolling speed is .8 -1mph. At that speed, with your set up. My line angle would be 40-45 degrees.

My speed is by the GPS, no wheel on the finder. GPS reads 1.6 to 1.8 and it’s fairly fast as when I hook one I need to slow down because the boat speed is adding to the fight and I think it cost me a fish or two. As far as the angle of the line I would say it’s about maybe 25 to 30 degrees. Bill Herzog commented that the 0/0 dodger may be overcoming the ½ oz weight. Early in the year I was successful at 1.2 mph but as it got tougher I noticed that when I sped up I hooked up
