Friend and I showed up at the lake about 7 and started trolling the same blue and silver kastmaster I'd done so well on the last time. Had a few hookups early on but not nearly as furious as earlier in the week. I put my friend on a brass and bright orange spoon hoping to hook one of those browns I hear hide in the lake, or maybe a larger tripp. The bite wasn't steady but it wasn't terrible, the brass seemed to be outperforming the kastmaster so I switched to a brass kastmaster and almost immediately hooked up. Next hour was fairly constant strikes. Had 9 in boat in ~2 hours with a few lost at the boat and a few missed strikes. All about 12-14 inches. The west side of the lake, especially the southwest side seemed to be where the fish were congregated this outting.

About 9 we decided we'd had enough of these trout and went to the southwest part of the lake to fish those lilypads for bass. No bass, but ended up catching the attached picture. Not sure what the hell it is as we don't have anything like it in Idaho where I'm from, unless it's a funny looking crappie. Looked a hell of a lot like a sunfish (bluegill) but without the markings... I am going to assume it's a pumpkin seed but it just didn't look quite right.

Anyway, great day fishing until we headed back across the lake and the crew team decided they were more important than us and crossed our lines with their boats and caught both our rods up in their (illegal?) motor. Ended up not losing either of the lures but it bent them all to hell and chewed the line up pretty good. I may or may not have said some things quite loudly I am not proud of at the moment.

When checking how many tripps they dumped in I saw they dumped some channel cats in last fall. I think I'm going to give that a shot this weekend sometime. If anyone knows anything about fishing for them on this lake I'd appreciate the help, I've only ever fished for channel cats in larger lakes with inlets and outlets.

Too bad about the crew-clowns. They seem to think they are Cool-Cats in lots of places...EXCEPT when you tool by them when on the Snohomish near Everett Crew Club and give them a proper wake to deal with. They have pounded down on my lines more than once as well.

that is indeed a rock bass. green lake has a huge population of them. they fight great for their size :)

The city of Seattle allows the Crew organization to have that gas motor on the lake. But don't get me started on the manners of those people on the water. My latest gripe is they run buoy lines all the way from N. to S. on the lake sometimes. It just bothers me that they have carte blanch (sp?) on the entire lake. If they were out there for a regatta or something.... If they pulled up and told me I was in their way, what would give them rights to tell me to move my float tube, etc. But if I pulled up in my float tube and said, "Pawdon me boyz, but I'm pressing this Eastern shoreline for some G. browns... I'm going to have to to ask you to play your silly Crew games elsewhere" I wouldn't have a chance (-:
