i was using diawa 7ft ultra light with 2lb test line. bait i was using was hook and about 2 1/2 worms. hook the worm just on the head. cast it near the edge of the brushes that have lots of reeds and brushes on the buttom, or even lilly bads. i cast it about 20-30ft away. key is when you cast dont let your worms sink to the buttom,b/c all you be perch all day. once you cast start reeling and jigging at the same time, this way as you jig your worms look like it just swiming the surface, do this reel in and jig combo really slow, cast in the same area atleast 3-4 times before casting to different direction, if you catch one crappie in one area your in the right place, just work that area very slow and try not to make any noise, in kayak i helps alot.
