This easily eould of been a 5 star report if it wasn't for 2 very unfortunate mishaps that managed to ruin my evening. But anyways, went out fishing with kwcc off the dock our boat is docked at (Newport marina) and I started out the day catching this nice 2 pound 12 ounce smallie on a senko. Later on in the day I feel my line go slack and set the hook! I get him up to the surface, and just as soon as I see it's a LM over 2 or 3 pounds, it spits the hook and gets away. After that, I was a little frustrated, but kept my mood high and kept fishing. Later on, I'm fishing a frog in some pads, and I get a huge blow up! This LM jumped clear out of the water! I waited a sec and set the hook! I reel him in through the weeds, and as soon as I get him to the dook, yet again, he spits and gets away. Another LM over 2/3 pounds lost in my sight. I kept fishing, but I was more focused on what a night it could of been than what it was. Considering I haven't caught a LM over 1.5 this year, and have never caught anything on frogs, this is gonna eat away at me until I catch atleast a 2pounder on a frog.
