I see that johnd66 hasn’t posted so I will tell of our day. I arrived at the dock, Log Boom Park, and John was already there fishing. I threw some chum in the water and began to rig up my pole. I had decided to change my bait to bread as I had seen the effects that John was having with it; however, I wasn’t going to put it on the hook but was going to us it on the hair rig. I cast out and maybe fifteen minutes later John had a hit. I grabbed my net and helped him land him.
At this point I had a run on my line, I let the fish take line and snapped the bail shut and pulled up to firmly set the hook and I felt nothing. I threw out more chum at this point John had another hit, he fought this one for a bit I grabbed my net and helped him land his one, much larger than the first one. I again had another run on my line and I a came up empty.
I believe this process repeated itself again one more time and then the bite died. John left and I stayed there for about another hour trying to locate the school. I did finally find them at the shallowest part of the dock but couldn't get them to bite.
I decided to see if I could move the school by attracting the Ducks and Geese, so I threw in some chum and then started to throw bread to the birds. This did work as I could see the large swirls in the water from the Carp, after the birds swam away. Not cool to be skunked, but definitely cool to be there to see John bring them in.
