Trolled Sprague from 6 - 11 am. Caught 2 lost 3 at the boat. These rainbows are great fighters. All did some sort of aerial display, the first one came out of the water 5 times. Fish were jumping everywhere but I didn't see a whole lot of people catching them. The biggest fish I saw was caught by a bank fisherman.

I have fished Sprague a couple times recently (in fact we were on the lake on the 4th too. Guess you were not watching us). I am primarily a catch and release fisherman but between my friend and myself we average 15-20 fish a trip...keeping a couple over 21 inches. Those are 4+ lbs. I agree they will fight, pound-for-pound, as well as any trout around here. We have found that you need to look for the fish when trolling, concentrate on that area, and not be afraid to change up your technique to figure out what they want. On the Fourth, I was using my ol' standby rig, was not getting so changed my dodger and started to get hits one after the other.
