Decided to take one of my friends who'd never been fishing out to Green Lake last night as I felt I knew the lake well enough I could at least get her a fish on there. Started on the NE cove by where the paddle boats are rented. Last time I'll try that. I had to row about 5 minutes just to get away from people, and the entire time I was there I had to dodge people either swimming across the lake, paddleboarding/canoeing, or the crew team. I don't see myself going back to this lake trout fishing until they stock it with browns in the fall.
Regardless of all that, I had a hook up almost immediately on a chrome/orange spoon but lost it when it tail-walked about 10 feet from the boat. My friend caught one about 5 minutes later on a little mepps spinner. Didn't have a bite for the rest of the night. Either way, it was her first fish ever and she seemed pretty excited about it so I can't call the entire night a bust, but if I head back up I'll stick to working the sides for bass.
