Was on the lake by 5:30 and caught this pig thirty minutes later. Unfortunately was the only fish in the boat for the day. Lost another fish approx 10 feet from boat. I suppose I should say that quality is more important than quantity, but I would really like a day with 5 or 6 fish caught.

Ohop can be a frustrating lake. But, dear Lord it has some hawgs. I've caught 4 bass 8 lbs even to 8-12, and 3 of them came from Ohop, including my biggest. I hooked another I know would have pushed 10 lbs. I clamped down on the reel when on its 4th run it was within inches of going into a fallen tree. It snapped 12 lb test Excel line that was holding for all its worth when it broke. I was sick!! Last year Ron Hobbs and I went there the last week the lake was open. I only caught 2, but one was 4-6 and the other 5-11. When it comes to quality rather than quanity, Ohop is a go-to lake.

Have you ever had luck at clear lake (the clear lake heading out toward eatonville)?

I fished it once last year, and a few times before. Other than in the spring when bass are moving up on alot of the shallow flats, Clear Lake fishes pretty small. The reason being the only deep water close to the shoreline is across from the boat launch, and that isn't much. And every bass fisherman and his distant cousin fishes that area. But it does have big bass, both smallmouth and largemouth. I caught a 6-2 largemouth there two years ago. And one of the biggest smallmouth I ever saw, easily in the 6 lb range shot out from under a dock chasing a bluegill. Because it was spring it looked like she chasing it from her nest rather than trying to eat it, because after a short chase she went back under the dock. There are alot of juvenile smallmouth that like to shake the tails on any plastics thrown in their area. But Clear Lake is another lake for quality bass, either LM or SM. Just hope you don't pick the same day other bassers choose that lake, or you'll be taking turns fishing docks, which has happended to me more than once. One reason I don't fish Clear Lake often.

Is a discover pass needed to launch at Ohop, Kapowsin, or Tanwax?

Yes, I know a discovery pass is needed at kapowsin and Ohop, not sure about tanawax.
