My friend and I took the Dessert eagle out on Bitter today for some bassin. Upon arrival the north wind was constatant and gusting pretty hard. After about 15 minutes with no signs of life, I was reeling my lure back to the boat... This fish had NO hesitation and smoked it in open water. I sawl it for a split second and just heard BLOOOOMMMMP!!!!! I gave it a 1 count and set the hook. My rig brought it in pretty fast but she was tuff to lip w/ all that fight left in her. We put her back and continued on. I had a small blow up shortly after that. Another 15 minutes in I had another monster flush but the wind had blown my line way out so I missed the hook set unfortunatly.
My friend had a solid 3 pounder on and lost it at the boat. I got another 2 pounder and that was it for me. I was pretty stoked cus I havent had a big bite in a hot minute. The fish weren't super active except the big girl though they are some healthy bass. They fought very well. The fry were the biggest of any water I've fished recently. Post spawners there. The strong wind made the heat very nice. Good day for a few hours of fishing. Tight lines.
