6:30am start this morning. It was cloudy and only got a bit breezy later in the morning. Pink Pole and I fished all over the lake this morning trying to get the boat limit of 10. If we counted the fish that got off at the boat we were successful. But we couldn’t count that way. She wanted some fish to smoke and I want to can some. We gave ourselves until 10am. By that time we fell short by 2. I used the downriggers and Pink Pole longlined. She used a variety of things that didn’t work but what did was a Wannafish A Lure dbl. blade Bloody Mary with a little weight. I used Dick Nite’s Dodgers Pink Splatter and Chartreuse Hot Head Scaled followed by Wannafish A Lure’s Pink Splatter Squiddy Thing, Green Ice w/swing blade, and a Bloody Mary. These were the lures that got bites or fish. I used only maggots and anise scented corn for bait. It was a good morning.
