Dropped the boat in around 9am, at Panorama. Water wasn't glass, but not a chop, either. Started on the south side of lake, about 500 yards behind a flotilla. Ran one off downrigger, 20p x 20ft, double hook 1/0 pink hoochie with sand shrimp scent. Ran the other with 3oz banana weight, 25 x 25, double hook 1/0 red smiley with shrimp, in pole holder. Both rigs with 50/50 dodger, 00. Ran speed at ~1mph. No hits from ~ 930a to 1130a. Saw fish on radar, only occasionally, and near bottom (not sure if they were sockeye or kokes) Saw one sockeye hooked and landed around 11a.

Scooted across to north side, switched both rigs to pink hoochies, both double hook red 1/0. Downrigger at 20 x 40; 5oz banana weight, 20 x 30. Banana weight was straight down. Varied speed at 1mph to 1.5mph. Started seeing fish on radar at 21ft, put downrigger at 20ft, and kept banana weight at 25. Increased speed to 1.5mph, had a bump on banana weight, then a solid strike 3 minutes later on banana weight, fish on! Only to run itself around the downrigger cable...snap, and goodbye. In fact, when the fish was on, the downrigger started bouncing lightly, andf I thought I had a double. This was ~1230p.

Gave it a shot for another 30 minutes, and the wind kicked up, and ride back into the wind and chop with 6hp took 30 minutes or so.

As for boat count, ~120 visual when I started; less than 20 going in.

Oh, leaders behind dodger were 12" - 16". Banana weight to dodger was 15".

I was out on the water too this day, made the trek up from Redmond late the night before, we had a couple bumps but no hook ups. Used EVERYTHING, hoochies, bare hooks, different dodgers, different speeds, hoochies stuffed with powerbait, with and without smiley blades, flies, tipping lures with cured shrimp. PAINFUL day of fishing, very wet and cold at the end of the morning. I have a question for all the baker lake guys, as this was my first trip to the lake, anyone ever run wedding rings tipped with nightcrawler or corn? I use wedding rings as my go to lure on lake sammamish for cutts and about a month ago we caught and released 4 sockeye out there. I know some guys use the wedding ring for sockeye elsewhere. This was the only lure I didn't try, not sure why I didn't, it's not like it would've hurt. PLEASE tell me to try this lake again, it just hurts so bad getting your a** handed to you like that.
