Had the day off to recover from a great weekend of camping so it was grandma & grandpa fishing time, so up to loon we went on a hot afternoon. Got to the lake around 2 pm and the pleasure boaters were out in full force, felt like we were in a washing machine at times! Been a while since I've done this so i decided to change it up a bit again and do some crankin on some drop offs along the points and around the docks. So out came my 6" Koppers Live target perch. I have a couple interesting stories with this crankbait up on the PO river. Anyways, I managed to pull in a couple decent bass with it including one that was about the same size as the crankbait! I also used a Copper & pumpkin colored Wave worm tiki craw around the docks with no weight and picked up a few dink smallies and also had a couple decent follows too. Another decent outing at Loon!

Well johnsgonefishing, the first story is I had what would have been my biggest Pike ever on that crank bait, after a 15 min battle I got her to the side of the boat but was so big only half of her fit in my net, my wife did her best to try and get the whole body in the net but as you know Pike do the gator roll once in the net, got the crankbait stuck in the net and the fish bolted! A couple casts before that I would have also had what would have been an 8lb + Largemouth follow it in and take a swipe at it, I got so excited I yanked just as the largie was going to inhale it and pulled it away from the fish. I was fishing the Riverbend area across from the church camp, casting out from the docks not in. We're going to have to meet sometime, I saw your post's on Eloika and you look like someone I used to know...
