So this was my first time on Tapps. Father-in-law was up from California so I decided we would try a new place. Hit the lake around 9 am. Through crank bait for a hour or so, nothing. Father-in-law switched to top water and got a nice smallie up to the boat. I was dipping the net and the fish jumped. The lure went one direction and the fish went the other. I was using a fat rap in baby bass up off a weed bed and sawing someting swimming behind my lure. We are both like is that a fish. Yup about a 24" musky. Figure 8's next to the boat and he just swaw by. So break out big stuff out. Saw another musky break off a weed bed toward my lure but turned away. That one probably went 36-40". Back to smallie. We figured out their pattern. Put on Senkos and had a blast. Probably had dozen fish in the boat 5 went between 10-12". We stayed in 10-12' of water and they were sitting at the 5-7' break. Just about any color Senko they were bitting on. Pumpkin seed with red flake and also with blue flake. A dark blue with silver flake. Good time. Next time I will concetrate on the musky. Tapps is a nice like. I marked this one in my return to often book.

How was the water? was it dark or pretty clear? I'm tying to figure out how colors are working in the different water conditions. Thanks

You could see about 3-4' feet down after that pretty murky.
