It was hard work today. 60 degrees at 6am. Going to be a warm one this 12th of Aug. I didn’t start fishing until about 6:30am . They must have been a rowdy crew out last night because there was a loose plastic kayak floating by the launch and an empty 6gal plastic gas can.
I headed south after launching. Trolling north and south with only a few drive by’s at 30 feet of wire in 50-60 foot of water. I did this for almost an hour without a fish in the boat. I decided to travel a little more east on the south end of the lake and hooked something with my downrigger and got it undone then the other rod had hooked it and I lost my dodger and lure. So I decided to change up everything to 50/50’s.
A Les Davis 4/0 50/50 with a Wannafish A Lure Pink Ice and the Dick Nite hammered 50/50 followed by a Wannafish A Lure Glided Lily variance.
Trolled around about lots of bites and 2 small koke’s. I was thinking about leaving around 8:30am when I started getting hits on the north side of the lake. So I circled the area until I got the rest of my limit with another 13 inch fish. He was starting to change. It took me about 3 hours to get it done today.
