I tested Myron Lake today and caught the nastiest trout I've ever seen, including dead ones. Parasites all over it. Caught 4 crappie, and some sunfish, but worked for them. Slow bite, every fish on the bottom, or slightly under it. I will be avoiding this lake for a while, even though it is close by. Between the parasites and the unpleasant people swimming and other things best not mentioned, it seems wisest. Maybe minus 2 would have been better, but according to the criteria for rating...

You too, Rocky. They were about 10-11". The tails aren't quite touching the zero line. The parasites were twin tailed, looking like the bottom half of an X chromosome. Crappie tend not to get parasites in most waters I've been in. In water where sunfish are loaded with worms the crappie are just fine, visually at least. My wife said I should have put it out of its misery. She was right, but I resuscitated it without thinking. I'm sure it is dead by now. Poor thing tried to commit suicide, but I thwarted it.

Trout are supposed to be a cool-water fish. No idea what the water temps were, but I've been skeptical about some of the bodies of water the WDFW puts trout in (in Eastern WA, anyways). Not sure if it contributes to fish weakness and parasites, but it seems at least plausible.
